about

An elegy for pianist and composer McCoy Tyner, the fulcrum of John Coltrane's Quartet and one of my biggest influences as a musician. He changed music and played at a herculean level for 60 years. He passed in March 2020 and it took 5 months to turn grief into this tribute. Written in rural Minnesota.
